Heh, here in the middle of Southern California, there is no such thing as a peaceful moment. Ever. Cars constantly on the roads, people always out and about, annoying junior high kids on skateboards, ya get the picture.
The girl and I do this every weekendI have found recently one of the most tranquil expirences I am enjoying lately is going for a nice long walk (1 1/2 - 2 Hours) later in the evening usually after 11 pm. There are several reasons I like walking this late at night , its dark and its usually greatly cooled off from the day. For the most part no one else is out and about or driving around , I really dont like bright head lights comming at me as I am walking at night but most importently it's Quite ! If you are able to fit this into your daily routine I highly recomend it to clear your head , to think, pray or just get your exercise. Enjoy !
I used to like to take walks in the woods at night, believe it or not. Especially in the snow. I found it not only tranquil but almost otherworldly. No cars, no people, little if any noise. After a little while you actually get fairly decent night vision. I was never creeped out. The beach at night is also awesome to walk along.
I still take walks daily but rarely at night, as my neighborhood is a little shifty after dark.
The girl and I do this every weekend. Nothing better than sharing the expirence.
