I hear you on the dope. When i got out of the hospital after the last surgery on my legs, i was zonked on lortab but gave it up ASAP. still keep some but only if i have to be out and my legs are not cooperating. Last year i used three and so far this year i've managed to not use any.

Glad you are doing well.

Ouch.

Sorry for the original accident and all the pain you must have endured throughout.
Glad you finally got it taken care of and are now on the mend.

Choosing to stay off the prescribed meds as much as possible as you are will also keep your metabolism running clean and at your normal rate, which can only help speed up the healing process.

I haven't had any of those since yesterday morning and I don't plan to take any of them. To be honest, I'm in less pain now than before the operation - I kind of expected that. Of course, I could go sell the percocet to the teenagers in the park across the street. That's the high crime area of our neighborhood. The kids steal their parents' opiates and sell them to their friends.

Munji, I think you're ready for bath salts now. Apparently you'll feel nothing when running on one leg only, the one with the new knee in this case...

When I had second degree burns, I was prescribed Percocet. I found that it didn't do anything at all for the pain and the fear of dependency loomed large. What did help was Ibuprofen. Much safer than Acetaminophen, and much much much safer than opiates.

I can't take NSAIDs - they're contraindicated by my heart medications.
