My daughters (8 and 10 years old) recently started piano lessons (online with a great teacher in Nashville TN). That got them interested in learning bass as well.
I took them into the jam room and they tried all of my basses. I have everything from 35" 19mm spaced 5 strings to skinny pointy Ibanez 4 bangers. All of them were too big.
That began the search for a short scale. I brought up all kinds of images of pink Fender and purple Ibanez basses. I felt sure they would latch onto one of those. While scrolling through images of shorties, they both gasped at the sight of this.

First off, THEY love it. That's the most important thing. But the bonus is that I love it too! This thing isn't a toy. It's a real bass. After getting a good setup done on it, it plays great! It sounds great. It feels great. Fit and finish is great. I will definitely rock this thing out on a stage at some point. I played it for about a half hour through my SVT-CL and 610 the other night. It's warm and punchy. It'll get aggressive if you want it to. But over all I was very impressed.
My younger daughter is ready to rock.

(I love that kid.)
In all seriousness, if you're looking for a shorty rocker, this thing is actually very nice. And it's under two hunnerd bucks! (If they both stick with it and start to argue over it I'll grab a purple one for sure.... just to keep the peace, right?
