Warmoth are awesome. I have two bodies and a tele baritone conversion neck from them. I’m totally happy.

I have a wenge neck on my 20 year old Warmoth build that I've always loved the feel and tone of, but goddamn if it doesn't neck dive like a mother, and weigh a tonne. I've actually been considering the opposite mod of ordering a roasted maple neck to swap it out with! The wenge sure does feel nice under your hands though, eh?
Unless your strings are really really light, that's not going to be an issue. Ever.I honestly don't pay attention much to frets either, but in my head smaller frets meant less chance of me pushing down on the string too hard and putting the note slightly out of tune. So I went with the small, and they play great!
Whoa! Awesome!I have a parts MJT jazz bass that has always been my go to bass, but the USA Geddy neck on it was never quite perfect for me. I always loved the wenge necks on my old Warwick, so I figured why not. I also find 1.5” jazz necks too thin.
almost 8 weeks from the day I ordered it, this arrived and it is everything I had hoped for. Frets are impeccable and needed no filing or any work.
-wenge jazz neck
-1 5/8” but width
-Graphite stiffening rods
-vintage small frets
-normal contour (this thing is chunky!)

I believe the graphite rods to be overkill with wenge. Do they still refuse to make necks without rods ?.
If by "it" you mean the website, you're right. It takes a phone call. I'm sure you could get a wenge neck without stiffening rods if you call and ask someone. I've had a couple of special requests accommodated by Warmoth after calling them and explaining what I wanted. I've paid extra to do that, but I got what I wanted.I think it made me choose a stiffening rod if I remember right
Curious what scale neck, you put on the Stingray?Warmoth is the best. I have a similar neck on a StingRay body. It is solid.
