"No problem"

Sometimes somebody will give you a clenched fist with a "thumb up".. Supposed to signify " Good! Great! Approval!"..

But back in the day it meant "Sit down and rotate"...
Why do people need to add the "o" to "no problem" and make it into "no problemo"?

Does anybody say "don't mention it" at all/any more? Or has it been there in my L2 folder wasting space for decades?

Anyway, just another option for ya folks. Think nothing of it, not at all, and fuggetaboutit ;)

I have noticed though, curiously enough, that the last several times I've ordered fast food, whenever I said "thank you very much," the drive-through operator dryly repeated my total to me a second time, having apparently mistaken me for asking "how much?"

Now, I'm certain this is predominantly the product of a softpoken mumbler with a baked-in Jersey accent getting filtered through a cheap voice box, but still, it depresses me just a bit to know that given a garbled statement ending in the word "much" these poor fast food folks would sooner presume I was clarifying the exact price of my midnight milkshake than thanking them for taking my order.

Are manners really in such short supply these days?

Only in this context:
[I let someone into traffic]
[Other driver doesn't flap a hand in acknowledgment]
<Pleasantly, genuinely>
No, don't mention it.
<With rising gorge> Oh, you effin' didn't! Wanker!

Makes me feel better...
When they don't give the wave of gratitude/ acknowledgment, now we got a problem! :rage: Last time i extend a courtesy to THAT car :spit:
