So I was digging through the back of my closet yesterday looking for a case, and I found a bass that I didn’t even know I had! So it’s “new old Bass found in closet “day!

Washburn Mercury Bass and case

Seems in really good shape, looks like I will need to test the electronics and make some covers for the control cavity and the battery cavity.

Sometimes funny when you forget what you had! The odd thing is that I don’t ever remember having this, it only fires a tiny synapse of memory. But in recent years all the chemotherapy drugs have definitely affected my memory and mental clarity.

Anyway, should be fun to whip this back into shape! And the finish is pretty cool…

Yep, 34 , I’m 99% sure…. But I’ll confirm when I get home. Probably just a camera angle thing….

Ha thats awesome. Surprise active-PJ days are good days.
I had a similar experience recently when I grabbed what I thought was an empty gig bag. Nope, there was a Yamaha RBX inside that I forgot I still had. I had a buyer lined up for it that canceled after I was already at the meeting spot. For some reason it still got marked as sold in my head and completely forgotten about.

I had a case like that once. Got it at a clearance sale for like $25. No surprise bass inside though.

And it's 24 fret, so there's less real estate between the end of the neck and the bridge.

I bet it will sound great.

I found a '97 Fender Jazz V MIM in a gig bag in my closet that I could have sworn that I had sold.
It has low output pickups, but it sounds great recorded. The neck is worn in from many years of playing in the past.
Now I'm glad I still have it!

Nice surprise! I sold off my MB4 recently. The neck was killer but I didn’t care for much else on it.
