Noise Issue

esp vintage 214 with emg geezer butler signature pickups
fender rumble 100
fx connectx effect switching system .. stage pro 8

i had made a post on this once before but here is the updated one.. here is what is goin on.. when using the esp bass only, i do not experience this issue with any other bass i own..

my pedalboard controller to my effect switching system operates off a 9 volt batter or its power supply.. now this is what happens.

when using the board with just the power suppy there is a loud buzz when moving my foot over the board to hit the switch for desired effect

it also occurs when using the power adapter with the battery installed..

but when i use the board with just the battery there is no loud noise

i hope i can get some advice on this.. thank you all !!

Try having the bass shielded. Or DIY with some sheet copper, I recommend having it done. That should take care of it, my p bass used to pick up all sorts of radio signals when plug In and hiss like crazy, had it shielded and now it's silent like 2:00 am.

ill try the shielding thing.. should i shield the pickguard and the cavity or... one or the other

Both. I strongly recommend having a skilled tech or repairman doing it, if you aren't one yourself. Definitely look up a video if you go the DIY route, it's a simple job, and makes a big difference, but anything could go wrong, life is like that somtimes.

oh no not by any means haha.. i mean i can hold my own on certain things but im more comfortable having someone do it.. i can shield the pickguard on my own but the cavity .. nah.. will have someone do it..

and yea you got that right my friend.. anything can indeed go wrong.. id rather be safe than sorry

That's right, and any tech worth going to is going to do it right, they've done 30,000 shield jobs, it's the number 1 thing they do now a days

Thanks! Every once I a while I post a video of my stuff I write. Haven't gotten too much attention but I'm not In it for that, and my complexity Is not everyone's cup Of tea.

Does the hum/noise stop when you touch metal/strings/bridge? If not, then shielding will not remedy your issue.

I do not think you have a shielding issue, I think you have an issue with your power supply. The fact that the issue doesn't happen with batteries pretty much confirms this.
