Noise with BOSS GT-1B

Hey all,

I had a 4yr. old ZOOM B1on crap out on me (won't turn on) last week so I went out a purchased a brand-new BOSS GT-1B and am getting noise (a fuzz like distortion) whenever I use the Compressor / Limiter section on it.

It is ever so slight and I can only hear it when using headphones late at night, but this is my practice tool - late at night with headphones is when I'm using it 99% of the time.

For other GT-1B users, from Factory Default, I'm using the Scoop Slap sound - position 01. Turn off the PREAMP and FX2/MOD effects. Do you hear any distortion/ fuzz sound, even just a hint of it - with headphones? I'm expecting super clear / clean bass and am not getting it.

Using the exact same set up but swapping the GT-1B for a Mackie Mix8 mixer, I get super clear / clean bass (without compression, tuner & pitch shifter when needed for learning songs in different keys). :(

I have a very similar problem with my BOSS ME-20B (same thing but much quieter & almost inaudible) but my BOSS BC-1X Bass Compressor is dead quiet, clean & clear.

I want to like the GT-1B, but so far this is not going to work out for me.

Any other GT-1B Users experience the same thing please?

Benner

Sorry, but I did not. I bought a Zoom B3n and it is dead silent with no issues with the compressors.

Not trying to knock the BOSS, I wanted to love it especially with the battery feature (the Zoom dose not) but I practice late at night with head phones a lot and the noise with the BOSS when using a compressor patch was just to bothersome for me to continue.

I just bought one GT-1B and I listen the noise that you saids and with the B string its very hard, I found that the problem was the noise supressor, you have to put the all the pots to 0, most of the factory presets got the noise supressor set, normaly thrshold at 30% turn down to 0 and the noise dissapear.
