Noisy Bass Problems

I recently picked up a Squire P-Bass %-String Special and it sounds great and plays great, especially considering that I got it for $199 new! The problem is that it can be fairly noisy when the television or computer is on. What can I do to reduce this noise?

Turn the TV and computer off. It's not uncommon.
