Noisy songs.

I've recently been gravitating to funk a bit.

I see a lot of penitonics, but also a lot of string jumping.

I noticed my muting isn't as on point with cetian patterns of string jumps as I want.

A particularly noisy song for me is "groove is in the heart." It's just a simple riff, but it's very noisy if I'm not careful with my plucking hand muting.


I'm looking for suggestions for other similar style songs, or songs you just feel are a bit noisy by nature and require a little extra attention to keep quiet.

A lot of Rocco's stuff needs good muting to keep it nice and tight. Joe Dart, too.

It's worth thinking about both hands when muting. Fretting hand muting will need different focus than, say, palm muting

It would be helpful to see a video of you playing the part in question. There are so many factors that can contribute to "noise" from poor technique to bad EQ, it's hard to make recommendations without more information.
