Of course it depends on what kinda stuff interests you. For games, you have to get the obligatory
"Angry Birds" and
"Words with Friends". Other games I play on my iPad include:
- Bloons Tower Defense 5HD (my current addiction)
- Fruit Ninja (prior addiction)
- Sudoku
- Monopoly
As far as just plain useful, non-musical stuff, I use:
- TaskPro
- Subscriptions to AutoWeek, Car and Driver, and Motor Trend
- A MicroSoft Office Suite (several available for $3-9)
- A units conversion app (pounds to kilo, hp to kW, etc)
The cool thing about the magazine subscriptions is that they do more than the pulp version. You can tap links to more photos, videos of test drives, interviews, etc. and the
AutoWeek subscription (bi-weekly) updates the current issue with new info on a daily basis.
If you blog,
Wordpress has a nice iPad app. You might also want to consider
Evernote. Hard to describe it. It's all a matter of how you use it. I have several projects and activities going at any given point in time.
Evernote helps me organize and compartmentalize my ideas on the fly. For instance, if I'm at work, but suddenly get a brainstorm that applies to an entrepreneurial venture I'm considering, I can open
Evernote, open the folder for that idea, and drop a note, a picture, a web link, or a soundbite into that folder and move on.
