Hey guys, I'm currently using Labella white tapewounds on my fretless, and when I go up into the upper octave, the higher I go, the less note you hear, and the more "thud". Almost every note above the 15th "fret" sounds awful. I'm looking for a string that gives me a consistent tone, allows me to play in the upper register, and is not a round wound. I like the tapewounds, because they sound kind of round, but the tone is kind of thing as well. I'm looking for something with a thick tone, but can be heard and played. Also, good effects response is a plus, but not mandatory.
