Nordstrand: Fatstack or Dual Coil???

Scott Pazera's bass had a killer slap tone, and the irony was, there were so many frets, he had nowhere to slap so he kinda did it over the fingerboard just kind of plucking. That bass had beautiful tone, nice fat punchy low end, very smooth. Of course, Scott would make a broom sound killer.

I should soon be receiving Adrian's old Amboyna burl NAMM Nordy from Carey. I sent had it sent back to him to have him swap the F pre out for an OBP-3, put a series/parallel switch on it for greater tonal variance, and do a string swap/set-up. I've never played one of Carey's basses before but have always wanted to and figured this one would be a good place to start . It's got the duals in it so I can't wait to hear how they sound!

The coil tap is a switch that allows for changing between single coil or dual coil (hum cancelling) mode.

wow i was doing the same thing. an mm, a fatstack or big single in the neck j position, and an audere. how do the fat stacks compare to the big singles?

Can fat stacks be put in a traditional jazz ?

They can be put in a traditional Jazz, but you would need to have larger pickup holes routed, since the Fat Stack and Dual Coil are both much bigger than a traditional Jazz pickup.
