not enough volume.

So my new rig consists of a Gk 115SBX-II (which is great)
a hartke 2.5xl 210 cab,
and a hartke HA5500.

this is a large improvement from the ampeg ba115hp I used before...

Yet.. I am finding that this rig does NOT produce enough volume for my needs!... I feel that the GK 115 does its job, and the hartke stuff is just not pumping out the power i need.. The 210 farts out if i push with a decent amount of low end..

Would upgrading to something like a peavy tour 410 make my rig capable of pushing to a good gigging volume? or is the hartke head also not capable of the volume I want? I plan to get a GK 1001-rb eventually, but money doesnt grow on trees.

I thought a 115 210 rig would be loud enough! (both cabs are new I might add)

anyone have an opinion??? I suspect the inefficiency of my 210 is to blame.. on top of the fact that my head isn't really a powerhouse either.. awesome tone is great, but at this point I am frustrated and just want to have a rig I can gig with. I find it ridiculous that this little stack cannot do just that.

Yeah, without looking up the specs I'm going to guess that you're right about the low efficiency of the 210. Really the only ways to get a lot of "loudness" out of a 210 are:
a) if it's very efficient
b) if it can handle a lot of wattage, and you feed it a lot of wattage
c) if your signal is compressed
d) if you have EQ'ed yourself into the most efficient range of the cab's capabilities
e) if you have EQ'ed yourself so that your range is strongest above the frequency of the kick drum but below the guitars.

...or best yet some combination of those.
