...on watched or participated in threads. I saw somebody mention if you don't click on them they stop coming, but this hasn't been the case. I'm sometimes surprised to see the threads w/new replies under 'new posts' without me getting notified. Is there something I'm missing?

Edit: Hopefully I'll be notified of replies to this

Just to be clear - you have to actually view the thread (not just click on your alerts menu) to reset the notifications. If we're set on that, the next thing I need to know is if you're not getting alerts in your alert menu, or if it's email notifications you're not getting.

Thanks!

I'm noticing the same thing. I'm not using email notifications, just the alert at the upper right of the webpage. I started down this path with the auto-subscribe suggestion after the TB app was withdrawn. Is it possible I have too many subscribed threads? I'm willing to test if that would help any.

I'm always keeping my eye out for any database errors etc that could explain this, but so far have seen none. I'm also unable to duplicate. The number of watched threads should not matter - it's still an easy task for the db server.

Next time this happens, please post the url of the thread, for which you believe you did not get an alert notification of a new post.

Thanks!

Alright, i think i MIGHT have figured out the issue:

When I'm home using my laptop and have a thread open that I'm watching, then close the laptop without click shutting the window. I then go about my day using TB on my android .... could the notification software assume that I'm still seeing the thread as open on my laptop?

That might be my issue too. I'm using at least three different devices on a regular basis.

And FWIW, I am getting all the notifications for this thread! :)

Hmmm ... I just got a notification for the thread that I was reading in an opened window on my laptop, so I don't see why that wouldn't transfer to another device as well.

Your laptop would have to be refreshing the page... and I don't think it'd do that without you telling it to.

It would seem to me that something is not loading correctly when you view a thread - so your "trip counter" is not reset, so to speak. I'll let you know if I find anything.
