I’m not so new here. Been reading and getting into the Joyo Club (# 144). I mostly play Guitar, but started by buying a Mandolin. My daughter got into Bass and I borrowed my Nephew’s old First Act for her. I later had given to me a nice Silver Tone. I bought my first Guitar with Christmas money at the end of 2013, a Drive Wildfire II (Vibracell). I bought myself a blue Silver Tone, that my daughter took as her own. Since then I’ve bought 2 Daisy Rock Guitars that I just love. One, white with a red heart, I have made a Face Book page for (Roaming Heart-On). I also found another Drive Wildfire Guitar that I also love. I also found a beautiful Ibanez GSR200 at a swapmeet for 40 bucks. After cleaning and scraping off all the white scuff marks, new battery and new Slinky’s, it’s an awesome Bass for her. All this leads me to my Bass. I had seen this Drive Wildfire short scale Bass on KSL for quite some time and the love of my 2 Drive guitars and wanting to try the Bass, this Bass. I finally got a hold of the kid (like 15 years old), and his mom was finally home, I bought the Bass. $75.00. I had to clean all the dust off, and install new set of strings (from Pro Musician), and a set of pots and rewire, and now it’s a good sounding bass. I already know “Big Bottoms” by Spinal Tap. My Daughter has also taught me the bassline from “Dam It”. Well, that’s my story, so far.
I think my Drive Wildfire Short Scale may qualify for the Short Scale Club and possibly for the Strange Bass Club.
I really like it here. Much nicer people than over at Ultimate Guitar. They seem to be total tone snobs and if I don’t have a ’55 Gibson, I ain’t nothing.
