Not the Norm-What's Wromg with this ?

I always have people telling me that i should put my 4/10 cab on top of my 15 cab but i have a loss of hearing, so what i do is point my 4/10 to audience and turn my 15 to me and stage personel then i don't have to turn up so loud to here myself and they hear me on stage don't run bass in monitors, only through mains. plus i feel this helps in tone through 4/10 to audience. Is there some technical reason I should'nt run this way ? Note my 4/10 twice as loud as my 15.

My eye likes to see the 10s above the 15, but I think it's just tradition. There might be some kind of psychological need to see the smaller, apparently lighter, cab on top, I dunno. I saw a great little 3-pc yesterday(the Hipwaders- awesomeness); the basser had an Ashdown 1x15 combo on top of a 2x10 cab, and it sounded great. Didn't look odd. I doubt any non-bass players notice this point.

Edit: Bottom line- do what works for you.

Do it the way you want to do it. As long as you can hear yourself and the audience can hear you too, who cares what anyone else thinks.

+1 I used to put a 15 on top of a 410, it was fine.
