Akoya Afro Beat - not their new one though, but it's new to me. Good but buy all of Fela first, that's the shtuff.

Clapton and Cale - Road to Escondido (MAN are these guys good- understated, graceful, tasty, witty, poingant, and just freakin' damned GOOD! Willie Weeks, Pino Palladino, Nathan East, and one other bass player I can't remember- Steve Jordan on drums- I can't get enough of this disk)

Jaco Pastorius Big Band; Word of Mouth Revisited - Elegant People (Gerald Weasley on bass).

(Excellent album with a lot of different bassists)

EDIT: Just had to play Steely Dan's song Deacon Blues as the following one... I just love that song (guess you knew that already ;) ), it has just such a great melody and lyrics. Don't know who's playing bass on that however...
