Sweet! Great Player... a slight depart from the normal GPJ and I like it. I've not started tracking down anything else from him yet. I'm curious to find some studio stuff.

I bought the first 2 Mudvayne discs... Ryan can sure play some. I think my favorite track was the single "Not Falling". They are another band I would truely dig if the singer could just sit out a few songs ;) I guess I've crossed the line into "Old Fart" because I mostly don't want to hear someone singing over the music :bassist:

I'm usually not one for major label rock, but I've been listening to Los Lonely Boys all week long. Jojo Garza is an amazingly tasty bass player. He throws in a flashy arpeggio fill every now and then (in the right spot) but he's usually laid back and always in the pocket. He plays six-string bass, but most people wouldn't know: he never travels outside of 4-string range unnecessarily. I respect prog players like Jaco, etc, but my goal is to play like Tommy Cogbill or Jojo Garza.

no, I don't think it's an age thing 'cause I'm an old fart, too. the singer is definitely the weak link in the band and they're more than capable of playing instrumentally.

on a lighter note, I just heard the Primus cover of "Silly Putty" and I cannot stop grinning! whew!
