I bought this pedal having never played it and having only watched 2-3 Bass demo's on youtube (The nearest store with one was 800km away), it supparsed all my expectations.
Having spent a hour or so playing, its better then any cabinet I've ever played through, It has all of the advantages with none of the disadvantages. Most cabs will either sound good with Distortion but then sound flat if you try to play funk / slap on them, or they will sound Good for slap but really fizzy with distortion, the iconoclast sounds great for both which supprised me, I was expecting to set it up for a drive sound then use a looper to switch to a eq for a bright clean sound but there is no need.
It also handles the low end really well, playing fast on the low B string sounds clean and clear but still full and fat there are some bass cabs out there that do this well, but they don't tend to get the high end right. I got it because I mostly play while my kids sleep and so I practice through a mixing desk with headphones, But when
I run it through my Little MarkIII and 2x10 the drive from my Two Notes Le Bass sounds better with the iconoclast on and you can still get reasonable clean sounds if you EQ the Little Mark right, so I think from now I'm always going to go from the Iconoclast direct to the desk and my Mark Bass rig will essentually become a powered foldback
