...And I'm using "paint job" in the loosest term possible.

Long story short, this is what a can of yellow spray paint, zero patience, and just above freezing weather looks like on a black bass that was not sanded or primed.

I promise that it looks better in these pics than it does irl.

I spent ages trying to rub those two dark spots on the lower right off. Until I realised they were on your bass and not my monitor

I'd say it look pretty darn good taken the circumstances into consideration.

You got away with that pretty well, it seems surprisingly even, and I actually like that banana slug yellow color you chose.

I can relate to the zero patience regarding doing stuff on your bass, nearly ruined one of my basses on that account, was a miracle I manage to actually save it.

All things considered, not bad! I've done a few DIY refins, and between prep, painting, and sanding, I've invested untold hours in each one. This makes me want to do a quick and dirty one. Although I'd probably hit it with a can of clear before putting it back together...

Lack of patience, but OCD. I usually just let them duke it out.

Well there's another $50 bass. I've gotten a nice one before. Silver rattle can Electra Jazz turned into pretty sunburst with rags and denatured alcohol.

I think it’s kind of cool on that bass. Reminds me of the Partridge family although I know Danny played something totally different. Maybe the bus on the cartoon version? I mean it in a cool retro way.
