Here are a couple economical choices. I use the FB620 for a G&L Tribute JB-2 I have, and it's worked well. The other link I posted is for a short-scale bass, but given the lack of a head on the NS basses, it might actually be a better fit. Other than that, I know nothing about it. It appears NS Design doesn't offer their gig bag for sale, though if you're interested, you might call them. They're contact info is available at thinkns.com.

That's true for the US only. In the EU both ON might cause nuclear meltdown. Therefore I'm hesitating to try that with my CR5.

It’s for the Piezo

This is the treble frequency adjustment with the BTC circuit, not the piezo circuit. NS wrote me back pretty quickly about this question, too, so props to them.

Does anyone know what fretwire NS uses? I like EVO or SS just because I find myself having a very slight nickel allergy/topical irritation with NS frets...I assume they are nickel silver, but if I like a guitar enough I can just diligently wash my hands every 5-10 minutes or so to make it livable.

Try calling them...(866) 673 3744. (US & Canada) They're a very small company. Just explain to whomever answers the phone what info you need and I'm reasonably sure you'll get it right then. Their hours are 9:00 AM-4:00 PM M-Th, and 9:00 AM to noon Friday, Eastern Time. They also offer international numbers on their website.

Please post this info here once you get it. I radically modded my WAV4, completely gutting and changing all the electronics. I now do not have the piezo hooked up at all because its brightness caused such clicking. However, even with that, I still get some fret clicking that I don't get with my other non-NS basses. I can only think it has to do with the fret material, so I'd be interested in knowing what it is.

I actually did get a response last night (tried their sales email instead of general info) and it's "medium jumbo nickel".

Thank you! I was guessing that it was nickel, which seems to be more sensitive to noise than some other materials. I don't know what I can do with this info. I don't replace frets myself, and when I compare paying my luthier for a fret job or just living with the slight clicks, living with the clicks wins out because the frets are actually in good shape and I'm low on cash! And compared to the clicking when I was using the piezo with the stock preamp, there is just a little noise.

Did you notice that clicking also with flatwounds? After I strung my fretted CR5 Radius with La Bella LTF I like the piezo sound much better than before with nickel rounds.

I think it might be more obvious with the TI Jazz Flats I have on it now. They're so quiet otherwise. With a set of roundwounds, the clack would probably be lost in the finger noise. It's not a big deal. It gets lost in the mix playing live, but I don't think I'd do a recording session with it.
