Double Bass NS, Kydd, Bass, Bass Cello, ?????

Hello gentlemen.

I am an average electric bass player, with very good gear, and a few bucks to spend. I have looked at electric uprights for a while now. I play in a few classic rock bar bands, and a super fun funk/R&B/swing 9 piece band.

I have tried the Kydd, and although the feel (scale mostly) was pretty good, the sound and overall fell was good, but not great. The NS bass Cello & omni bass were amazing. Super feel, good sound, perfect scale for me, yet still not quite that upright feel & tone.

The Wav4, and the Dean, felt and sounded very close to a double bass, but I had much more trouble having fun and feeling good with them, though I only played them a few minutes.

This is my dilema, Buy a Wav4 at 800 used, or 1200 new, OR
NS Bass cello, at a very special 2200 new.

I would appreciate advice, especially from players who may have made the same sideway trip from the electric bass.

Thanks

I'm still looking at whatever I can find in Montreal.

Tried Kydd again, and its a NO,
Tried Dean again, and its a NO.
Tried Palatino for first time, not bad, but not great for me.
Tried Stagg for first time, not bad at all

Still NS Wav4 & CR4 Bass Cello are leading.
