NSD! Any one use S.I.T. Strings' "Silencers"?

Old thread but recently tried them and found one of my favourites now! Love them, 40-60-80-96. Love the feel and sound right out of the package. I like stings with slightly lower tension (Sunbeams and TI's for years) but sometimes find the TI's too low tension for faster, heavier songs - a new set of Silencers on a Fender Aerodyne Jazz is the perfect fit for me. The only downfall in my books is that they seem to lose their awesomeness quicker than most stings. I know that is a matter of perspective, $, and could be a product of the fabrication method. Many players change strings once a month, others once a year and others very gig, but the positives far outweigh that. At ~$30 a pop, its all good.

I did have a chance to try the 40-95 set since I made a few posts in this thread back in 2020. Didn't like them as much as I had hoped as they felt too sticky and grabby, almost like half-rounds. Back to GHS Pressurwound I go...

Meanwhile, I have come to enjoy the SIT Power Wound Nickels as one of my top three all-purpose NPS rounds. So, not all is lost with SIT.

I really like SIT Silencers. GHS Pressurewounds IMO sounded lifeless with no character to them. Silencers had a bit more to them and broke in really well. I had them strung on my bass for close to 18 months and they still had plenty of life left in them.
