NSD super excited!!

New String Day yeah! Nothing better than opening your door to let the dog out and oh look the wonderful ups delivery people have blessed me with my new strings! Never had these before so it's an all around new cannot wait to put these on.

I have the long scale version of that string on the blue fretless P bass in my profile picture. Nice strings

These were the original strings (long Scale) on my Rob Allen MB2 eventually replaced them with LaBella tapes. Always liked the Rotos better.

Are you experiencing grounding noise from the tapes?
The ball ends should ground the strings to the bridge and if the bass is shielded there should be no noise but I'd like to know before I order a set of tapewounds as well.

Anyway love your Epiphone bass. The G string being farther from the fretboard edge than the E string would drive me crazy but I guess it doesn't bother you

Well I went this morning to do some minor adjustments and this happened... so now the question will be what type of nut to get.

I like the feel of the strings. They have a smooth rubbery feel

That happened to me some years ago with a new Fender FSR Jazz. I swore off all future nut material except brass. It's just put on the new nut, set it and forget it.

Update good news everyone!
So after a bit of delay I took my epi to a local repair guy ( big thanks to Randy!) and he cut a new nut and installed it! I'm so excited to be able to play this beauty!
