NV610 vs. GS412

What should I do???

I just bought my GS412 like two or three weeks ago, and it's been great so far. But now, there's a local guy selling an NV610 for like $700-$800!:eek: I'm pretty sure that's a great deal, but I don't know if I should take my GS412 back just to grab it up. One major factor here, is that I LOVE how the GS412 sounds and I like having a tweeter. I think maybe I'll have to take a listen to see just what I'm missing by not having a tweeter. Anyways, what you you all do in this situation and why?:confused:

Those are two VERY different sounding cabs. Not just apples and oranges, but one's an apple and the other one's not even a fruit at all . . . so to speak.

I love the NV610, but if you are digging the Aguilar GS412 tone, stay with it. The NV610 - while great - is a TOTALLY different sound altogether.

Go try it and find out. You gotta hear them both to decide. That is a good price for one though. If you do not take it PM or email me his info ASAP!

Being that i've heard a DB750 + GS412 in person, i'd say stick with that. Judging by your influences and choice of basses i'd be willing to bet you'd like the wider frequency response and tweeter of the 412 over the sound of the 610 with your DB750...

Well....that and you wouldn't have to worry about mike winnen breaking into your house at night to steal your rig :D

I vote for the Berg.

One bit of personal experience I could pass on to you is: When I initially tried out
my NV610 at a music store, I was not totally blown away by Its solo sound.

I think this cab really needs to be used on stage with a band to fully appreciate its potential.
This is were the NV610 will blow you away, (literally and figuratively).

I felt compelled to vote (even though I have never heard the NV610) (yeah, yeah, I know, if you haven't heard, played on, gigged with both, you should keep your opinion to yourself, blah, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, yadda) but based on previous threads, I can't help but think the GS412 is more towards your preferences.

Side note that has nothing to do with this thread - I WANT AN NV215 (&^@&$#).

The GS412 I played did fart out. It has been in the shop since they came out so that could be it. But, I wasn't overly impressed. I also don't care for the size.

Another NV610 owner here. I agree with Eric.

I adore my NV610, but also own some "modern" cabs: ported and tweetered. They're all great in their very own way. So that's your answer: get both. That way you don't have to worry about guessing wrong. :p

Seriously: try 'em both, and let your ears decide. Win-win situation!
