I own a 1965 (neck date) "L" series P-Bass and I absolutely love it. It feels, plays and sounds sooooo good.

My particular bass has some typical CBS features: perloid dots, a reddish brown fingerboard (I have a CITES certificate saying the fingerboard is "Dalbergia Nigra", though), and Fender non-reverse tuners (which are not the original tuners - you still can see the filled screw holes from the Klusons).

I'm using Fender pure nickel rounds right now. fairly worn in. Also have a piece of weather stripping inside the bridge cover.
If my mood swings me toward flats again, I have sets of GHS Precision & Chromes sitting around.

Yeah, 62', but not stack pots. LaBella Flats. I do want to check out your PBass too. Hopefully soon.

FYI...switched over to the heavy (49-109) LaBella's. Wow. Just wow. Yes they are big, but not djfficult to play. Tone is bigger, clearer and smoother than any others i have tried. For the first time in my 40+ years of bass playing, the G string doesnt sound wimpy. PBass heaven.

La Bellas are great on P-basses! I've got the lighter set (760FL) on my '64 and they sound fantastic, percussive but still with note clarity.
