Nylon Tapewound with a Hipshot D tuner?

Hey has anyone any experience using tapewounds on a bass with a d tuner? Have a Fender Tony Franklin fretless that I would like to use tapewounds on but and not confident the the tapewounds will hold up to sliding back and forth against the nut without being damaged?

I use nylons on a Breedlove acoustic bass and a fretless MTD. Both have dtuners and I've never had an issue.

LaBella white nylon tapes and Hipshot D tuner, strings have been on there a couple years, use the tuner a lot, no problem whatsoever. Total satisfaction with the Hipshot and tapes on my fretless.
