I don't qualify as a real bassist, just a guitarist that plays bass when called for.
Dad was a lifelong jazz musician, playing trumpet before WWII, and moving to standup bass some time in the 50s. He eventually moved to drums, which he played in a swing trio into his 70s.
His Kay was kept in it's canvas bag for probably 25 years until I bought it from him, and I've kept it in preservation for probably 20 years and its time to revive the old war horse and start making music with it again.
It needs a neck reset and the bridge is warped. I may attempt to reset the neck myself, not sure. But where would I get a new bridge? Are there sources for these out there or would it have to be custom made?
