Odd buzzing situation

I've got a squier vm jaguar, and there's definitely sone buzz going on. It is fully shielded, and I've checked continuity on everything. It's not single-coil hum, since it does it on the p-pup as well. It does stop with the tone switched on, and it lessens when I touch the strings, bridge, etc; that means it must be the bass. The strange part it, it goes away almost entirely when I put a bare foot on the switch on my EBS multicomp in addition to touching the strings. If I'm not touching the strings and touch the EBS switch, it gets worse. The comp is on in this situation. I've also tried my P-bass that has an internal buffer and there is no buzz. Does anyone have an idea what the source(s) might be? Thanks.

Update: I rewired the jag, mainly due to another issue with a switch. There was no change in hum. I tested continuityvon a few other things, and realised that the EBS case isn't grounded. So I used a wire to attach the footswitch to the nut holding the output jack on, and problem solved.

I also noticed that two pole pieces on each half of the P-pup are grounded. They are the A and D string pole pieces. No others are grounded though? Is that a problem?

As far as pole-piece grounding goes, I'd suggest you ground all of them simply to make sure the E and G don't give you headaches if you knock a string onto its pole-pieces by accident (or due to your technique).
