Odd saddle positions

I was setting up my friend's bass earlier and after setting the string length/intonation (using 12th fret harmonics and fretted notes) the position of the saddles ended up looking really strange. Is there any reason for this? Is this "right" or "normal"?

Looks about typical, except for the D. Make sure there's no twist. Try re-stringing the D. How does it sound?

I was going to say it looks typical except for the G.

Check it against a good tuner. If it sounds good it's fine.

The neck looks straight, it was plugged into a korg tuner, and it sounds right. The strings are a few years old though, could this be why?

Try a new set of strings- you'd be surprised at what you're missing...and it'll intonate right.
Then, again, if they're flats (can't see from the photo) just keep 'em for another few...

They were the stock rounds. I'm a lover of bright fresh strings, but my friend likes the sound (very warm growl) so he's keeping them
