I was driving home from work and saw a thrift store I hadn't noticed before. I was needing to restock on reading material and thrift stores usually serve that purpose quite well. As I wandered around I noticed what looked like a bass head and amp in the corner. Of course I moseyed on over to take a peek.
Lo and behold it was a Series 400 Peavey ( with the Distortion ) Head on a 2x15 cab in pristine condition. A quick check at the serial number showed them to be 1974 units.
After nearly choking to death at the price I dropped the top on my Cabrio, put the cab in the back seat and the head in the trunk. I drove home 90 bucks poorer.
They work fantastically. The sucker is loud as hell for only 210 watts. I wont replace my MarkBass rig but I'm certainly a happy camper
