Off the rack!?

Other than strap locks (all my working basses have strap locks) of my basses, only the SX's and Dano Rumor got modded,, and stirngs (sorry guys, strings aren't a mod, they are "wear items" like tires or brakes on a car)

On the guitar side.

My Gibson accoustic has a sound hole p/u added for gigging purposes.
My others are all stock with the exeption of a Bigsby on my '59 National Debonair, and my Basket Caster Parts Tele.

My Dean five string acoustic and my LTD B-4E are both exactly as I bought them. I am, however, going to put heavy gauge Elixirs onto my LTD. Otherwise, I'm not doing anything to it. I love it enough to leave the rest of it alone. I have an Ibanez GSR200 that I put an Iowa Hawkeye emblem on (a nice metal badge that would go on a car). I haven't done anything to influence its playability or sound.

The only other bass I have is my Squier P bass that I bought used for $100. The only reason I bought that was to have a project bass, and because it was a very nice bass for the price. I've had a ton of fun with it so it was very much worth it.

My 5 String is bone Stock and probably staying that way...I was amazed at the quality and set up of this bass. I did put straplocks on it and I may change the strings to half rounds or some such deal. But to me strings and strap locks are not really mods worth worrying about...and I don't generally count them as a mod....

My Lull M5V is stock. I have a belief that an instrument should be good out of the box (or off the rack), not too into the mod/upgrade thing. So I tend to choose instruments that are good to go, but there are always exceptions of course.
