Well it came from the factory like that. Seems there was a time they added that switch to turn the varitone on/off.

It's a rare one for sure. From the serial number, it may be a 1985. When did you buy it? As for value? I've seen the Koa Eagles listed under vintage guitars for as much as $5500, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. Get in touch with a place called Elderly.com They have appraisers and are dead on.

This Eagle was made between 20th August and 12th October 1981, NOT 1985
I have a Koa Bich 8 Supreme (1985) one of only about 20 ever made, I paid MUCH less than $5500 for it

i really want a 5 string mockingbird but ive never seen one.
i only have the basic bronze series for now (lack of money)
anyway, this thing goes into a serious neck dive all the time, i love it my bass so, is there any way to avoid this?
like lightweight machine heads? maybe move the strap button? im not sure if anyone else has this problem, but if you have experience with this, let me know :0
