OK - so Skywalker22 has placed "dibs" on a Adam Clayton "unofficial-signature bass".....not to be too far behind........want to get a low S/N..... (and because I like sleeping in the Dog house - or - put another way, I BETTER like it after my wife finds out)....I put "dibs" on one as well....August is enough time to save up funds - right????

But then what about the 44-02 fretless and the hollow body and the Glaub with the dark star...and all of the other GAS list contenders????

With the S/N, wouldn't they just continue with the numbers from the regular DJs? Or no, because it is a special run?

I also asked the guys over at BC if I'd be able to get the body redone in another color for a fee. I'd like it in the black sparkle. I love the way it'll look as a natural, but if I get it black then that will keep me from buying a geddy.

I just bought a Skyline Glaub with a Dark Star and maple board! Man, I've been GAS-ing for a DS'd bass for a while, and this one just popped up. Can't wait for the brown truck!

Congrats Greg!!! We'll obviously needs pictures and possibly a clip asap.

Hey Doug, maybe we could start a "LOG" house for all of us wayward spouses who are suffering from GAS induced by Lakland products and need a place to stay while the significant other cools off.

Congrats and enjoy. How do you guys with so many basses decide which one to play. I would be overwhelmed!

I have a serious problem when it comes to buying basses... I think I need help

You think you've got a problem? I'm a reformed guitarist who only started playing bass a month and a half ago or so and I just bought my third one: a natural/maple 55-01.

I think I need help.

Well. Right now, I only have three basses.. but in the past year I've owned 8 other basses. I spent the last few months selling a lot of them off.
Now, I'm almost back into buying mode.. scratch that. I am back in buying mode.

I am expecting my first Lakland today. It should be a 3 color sunburst 55-02. It is on the truck for delivery AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHhh I got the brown truck blues. I'll post pics when it come.

The quilted maple top was only on the deluxe model 55-01's but they have since discontinued that model. I've made a middle of the road budget bass into a professional sounding main gigger.

All in all it ran me just over $400. That included the pickups, routing and labor, parts, and set up. The pickups alone were $217.

All I can say is WAY TO GO!!! SMART!!!

That's alright on the sound clips. With a Darkstar in there, I will probably be able to hear it here in Ohio when you fire it up!

why get it repainted???? you can get a DJ in sparkle black NOW.....you shold be able to swap necks for a minimal fee (less than a paint good job....)

I like the idea!!!!

as for "too many".....it is even more intersting considering I actually get to play so little.....I just go with "how I feel" that day.....and if the songs I am playing need the Low B - now when I get the DJ5 that will be a harder choice as well!

PS - talked to Dan and he just received a shipment of 200 or so Skylines and he thinks my DJ is one of them so it should only be a short time!!! I am going out of town next week so I guess I cannot get it for at least another week!!!!!

However - for those of you awaiting a Skyline - Dan said they would ship them out to the dealers etc as soon as practical!!!
ALL of them are spoken for already!!!

Dan also stated that they are working like crazy to get the 5 string Glaub and the Skyline Decade out there VERY soon.....he also has a few other "government" projects in the works which will become public soon.....all he said was "keep a look out in the next issue or two of "Bass Player" magazine".......

addiotnally, Dan and the gang have committed to some good stuff for the LOG.....more to come when things get finalized......

as for LOG events - we hope to make an announcement on the weekend or early next week!
