OFFICIAL ASHDOWN CLUB

So Anyway, my Behringer head went south at my end of December gig. Since it's the new year, and new tax season, it was time to go shopping.
I found this Ashdown Studio 15 in the SW demo section. Such a deal!

I'm playing in a trio that prides itself on traveling light so this will fit right in. But what really sold me is the 25-pound weight. I dug out an on/off footswitch from my drum machine that I can use to access the Drive Channel.
A great little amp.

Hi all I am looking at purchasing an Ashdown rig. I recently moved from the states to Berlin Germany, my current rig is an Ampeg SVT 7 Pro with an SVT 410HE cab (this is being shipped and will arrive shortly). After a few gigs here I've come to the realization that my Ampeg rig is going to be overkill here. I need something I can transport easily and stage volume isn't as important here. I also have a Two Notes Opus that I use to DI to FOH. So I have located an Ashdown RH 300 EVO II head with a 210SL Cab and a 115SL Cab for a pretty good price. I know its not an apple to apples comparison but how would you rate this Ashdown set up? Thanks!

the ashdown will sound killer for sure however given the 410 ampeg rig was to much you have actually a bigger rig in the ashdown? unless of course your going to only using the 115 or the 210 at one time

Well the head alone is less than half the size and weight. Both cabs together are 15lbs lighter than my 410 alone. So this will be so much easier to lug around. I would probably only gig in most clubs with the 210 and DI out of my Two Notes while using the Ashdown rig for stage volume and presence.

Yeah I'd say it should work solid. Especially if you have PA support. The only thing to be careful of is whether the DI out button is set at pre or post preamp. Pre won't include the preamp IIRC, but post is affected by any adjustment made to the EQ and input level which can tick off a sound guy. I just play it safe and typically keep it pre. Realistically the EQ adjustment for me is just for the stage mix. The sound guy can (and should) adjust for the mix out to the house. I've never heard anything bad myself, and regularly got compliments.

Ok one last question is this a decent priced rig? Not being as familiar with Ashdown pricing as I am with Ampeg/GK etc.
Stack Ashdown Rootmaster RM-300 EVO II
RM-210T EVO II
RM-115T EVO II
$700.00 for the lot.

The other lightweight rig I was considering was the Aguilar TH 350 with their versions of the lightweight 210/115 cabs but it was considerably more expensive

Best guess: Ashdown ABM 500 RC EVO III Black

That's a possibility and after searching I was only able to pull up ABM's. However when I zoom in the knobs look a little different and the corners seem rounded sort of like a Rootmaster or Little Stubby, although I know they didn't make those back then. You're probably right since I can't seem to find anything to state otherwise. Thank you.

I've looked, but haven't been able to come up with anything. Does anyone here know what bass amp is being used on this video?

From what I'm seeing, it is actually a chrome faceplate. Remember most studios have blacked out surrounding areas to control stray lighting/reflections, so the faceplate usually looks black. Also notice the corners appear notched. Also note the two sliders on each side of the Mid EQ knob.

My bets guess is an ABM-500 EVO III

I don't know if this is a common practice in Ashdown, but I currently have the OriginAL preamp with different knobs than advertised. I also had another couple of pedals with different knobs and even an amp.

Hey guys, I’ve noticed that when speak of cabs comes up, Ashdown isn’t mentioned much.
The first amp I played through for many years was an old 410 Ashdown combo. I guess I always associated them with older style combos and big heads and rigs. I came across these Ashdown rootmaster evo 112 cabs for a VERY good price at my local music shop and took them home immediately. And what a little rig! They sound awesome. I mean do they feel as solidly built as an $800 neo 112 cab from other brands? No, but they still pack so much punch and sound very good regardless of price (I noticed they’re like 380 new or something? Honestly mind blowing).

do you guys think Ashdown isn’t spoken of much just because lots of the heads and cabs are made in china?
