Official: Fender Roger Waters P-Bass!!!

Fender just made my day.

Don't care if it's not faithful to Waters' P, I'm GASing badly right now...

I'd like it more with regular P pickups/chrome bridge and knobs, but I didn't see any pictures of Roger's bass in this new The Wall tour... maybe this is his signature bass for this tour I guess? And I think he is supposed to say OK or not to a sig model, if I recall correctly Andy Summers refused a Fender sig once in the past...

This had me all excited until I saw it. I was hoping for an accurate, custom shop relic'ed '71 or something. Or at least one that looked like it was from the 70's.

My own black/maple 79 P seems more Roger Waters than this one to me. But maybe I'm not well up on his P bass.

+1

I'm pretty disappointed with it. I was hoping for a CS relic.

I'm sure you can still find a few decent enough, black with black guard and maple neck, mid to late 70's P-Basses out there for about the same coin Fender wants for this thing. I'm so glad I found my black with, black guard, maple neck, 78 P-Bass back in 92 when they were still pawn shop bargains. Sorry; but while I'm a fan of Roger Waters , this signature model ain't making me too excited.
