P-Project is the name of the custom shop not the model of the bass. I think the 6 string guitars are a lot more common. Sting's guitarist Dominic Miller raves about a P-Project nylon string electric guitar that I think became a signature model for him. Controls are V/V/Tre+-/Bass+-

Hello everyone.
I bought this Fernandes Mockingbird off ebay a while back for around 300 AUD, but I don't really have much info on it. There isn't a serial number or anything. Came with the stickers, but I removed them.
so... if there's still anyone keeping track, may I have a number?

Wow... So it turns out my Ash one is a FRB-85... Always thought it was an APB, I hadn't heard of the FRB series. Glad you posted!
Well now....you sent me looking and I've decided what I thought was my Atlas 4X (post #101) is really an FSB-40. The only visible difference I can spot (other than the MIJ markings) is that the Atlas has a 21st fret marker but the FSB-40 does not.
It also answered my question about the pickup, which is shown as a FMM-1. Anyone know who made that for Fernandes?

No right or wrong here, just preference for a sound or look.
My other basses all have rosewood so I really like the maple on my FSB-40 as something different, and it seems to work well with the MM pup too.
Since you picked rosewood I guess you liked the sound/look of it better on that bass.

Count me in.... I have an LEB J-4 from the mid-90s that is retrofitted with Sadowsky humcancelling pickups. It is currently strung with Elixirs but I've also used TI Jazz Flats. It is a great sounding instrument. Sunburst finish; here's a very bad old photo

But it would probably be better if you didn't.
