I don't know why, but I just now realized that has a preamp. With a Darkstar? Not sure I've ever seen that before.

Maybe I'm wrong on this but I thought this style cable went out because you had to have 30' of cable to get 15' away from your amp and the longer cable degrades the tone especially when your using a passive bass...

I know...totally retro, but these use new tech that's supposed to eliminate that problem. So far for me, it worked! They are very high quality.
Anyone know what Lakland is charging for a new set of the JO5 pickups? I just ordered some Fralins to replace the Lakies in my black 5 and I have no clue what the heck the old pups are worth! LOL
I love my X2 as well. GREAT sounding wireless, and now with the price drop, you almost can't afford NOT to get one.

OK, I don't have any kind of a definite answer, but I'd guess they'd line up value-wise with the other higher-quality pups like Fralins and Nordys. I'd suggest searching the Accessories For Sale forum in case anyone has sold them in the past.

So I've got a 55-01 as a backup to my beloved DJ5... am I crazy for thinking about sending it in and having some Chi humbuckers installed? Seems like it would be a great alternative to the DJ....

Trust me I am not a rich guy! I have no other vices like golf or Harleys race cars like my other buddies! LOL!....I buy all the gear I want because I don't really spend it on anything else...SAD but true!

I know when I was talking to Dan about a custom bass, the Chi's were about a $300 upgrade, but not sure about an outright price.
