Is the pickup on these more in the Stingray position?

I think it's exactly in the Stingray sweetspot.

The Lakland basses with numbers as names have a specific pattern. The first or first 2 digits are the numbers of strings. The more important number is the last part of it. It's the year the original bass was released.

4-63 = 4 string jazz style bass
55-76 = 5 string Stingray style bass
The 94s, 01s, and 02s were all Laklands own, and those were the years those basses were first made.
 
OK, maybe it's just me, but since the announcement of the BG5 as the possible LOG bass, I've practically stopped looking at the basses section of the classifieds (and that's saying A LOT, since I usually obsessively look at it about 100 times a day, lol). OK, carry on.....
