Hi everyone,
I was away just for a few weeks of flu, and you guys start a new thread! AND a LOG bass!!! Man... Mint guard and maple is a killer. If only it were birdseye.
Well anyway, I got some news too. First, some of you guys know (and thanks to all who helped) my friend became Lakland artist, the VERY first one in Russia. He's on the Lakland site now:

and is recently also a member of LOG.
Secondly, he's just custom ordered a 55-07 CS. We've been thinking mahogany body, but finally closed to ash and fretted ebony without marks.
Then, I decided to switch pickups on one of my 55-94s from Bartolini to Lakland. So now the two will sound even more different.
Last, but not least, Dan's got a fretless ebony USA 55-94 neck on hold for myself, and that's the solution I've been looking for. Man, am I eager!

Got a question here. Having removed the pickups from the bass, underneath I found two signatures and an ink printed date : Oct 29 1997. But, Kirk had told me that the number 6113 on the neck said the bass was made in early 2001. The bridge pickup is the pre-restyling type, the one that has the imprinted Bartolini logo and the cover plastic is different. Those, I believe, were discontinued in 2001.
How can this be? I doubt they would put a painted and finished body on hold for 4 years. Or, is it like a replacement neck on an older body? Frankly, the neck DOES look old. At least, it doesn't look less old than the body.

Well, it's not New Bass Day, but it looks like today is going to be NEW BABY DAY! Wifey's water broke and we're at the hospital. He's about four weeks early, but we're hoping everything goes OK. I'll update when I can.

im sure the pickups were probably just ones they had in stock.and seeing that yours is an early 2001 it was probably put together before they discontinued the older style barts
if it was a replacement neck it wouldnt have a serial #

as for your body question, it is possibly a replacement neck...7 years of play may make it look old.....

Mine is blond translucent with a maple neck and a black pickguard...
