still loving my orange gear after about a year of owning it. with the new knowledge of the EQ at "flat" on the amp, i'm getting some really great tones now. The 4x10 cabs (2) really give me some nice thick lows and great highs as well.

The flat setting I was told about for the Orange was so counter intuitive (to me).

And how did you get black tolex? Did you recover it yourself?

...I would kill for black tolex with wheat grille.

Jazzman, they make special orders in black in the UK. You can get 'black' Orange heads too.
It only costs about 5% extra. If your cabs come from the uk i'm sure black can be an option

The flat setting I was told about for the Orange was so counter intuitive (to me).

it seems wierd, but then when i did it, the TONE was great. Nice thick lows, and with the treble at 1/4 it has a nicer thump. i really love the Flat setting.

I haven't tried the flat settings with the band yet. Seems like an awful lot of bass and I already feel like the amp/cab combination is so smooth that I wonder how well that particular flat setting will cut thru.

Can somebody remind me what the flat settings were supposed to be again?

it "cuts" through in a different way (aka being heard). most bassist's look to be high mid heavy and cut through with a biting tone.

i on the other hand, LOVE a nice deep thick Low end heavy tone that sits in the mix. You can hear yourself easily cause you're not trying to "cut" through. You're in the mix, the Bottom of the mix. Where a bass should be. you don't have to differentiate between guitar or keys and yourself, cause you're in a completely different tonal range.

Humbucker has some cabs in black (412/212 last I checked), and can get whatever is available from Orange UK.
I'm having my AD200 head case recovered in white, professionally of course. Timi did one in white, and it looked fantastic.

Nice review of the 115 in your other thread Adam. I too am really digging the cab. I am moving over from the Berg NV215s, as I'm tired of lugging them around. The single 15s stacked look like the way to go. As of now I only have the one (anyone... hint, hint ), but will be stacking in the near future.

yeh im going the other way! im gonna have a black 410 when i need to turn my half stack to a full stack! sandwiched between my ad140b and 115.

My AD200 is still alone and it's been 2 months already ;(
I don't really like orange colour but the amp looks sweet. Oranges in black look kind of dry IMO.

I wonder if anybody uses AD200 with Mesa or Trace cabs? I think I'd simply pick obc-115 as I don't play gigs at the moment but I'm a little afraid that it would be muddy.

Can I join? Orange Crush B35 bought this summer. Went up to school for a weekend cashed my paycheck and went into the music shop to kill some time. 200 bucks later I got myself a new toy haha.
