Wow Jimmy! You are not that young but you have the hearing of a 18 years old! :)
Yes on the first recording the order is as you state here.
I think the differences are quite obvious, but then it is my instruments played with "my" tone.
Rip thought that nr. 3 was the Ric which is wrong as it was the Geddy. It just shows how full I the tone of the Ric. The Ric is not that trebly as it is more of a high mids monster whole the jazz have actually more treble, at least the Geddy is brighter then e 4003.

Anyway Jimmy if I've lived by you I would have bought you a fine Zinfandel from Sonoma valley! But then I do not know if you like your drink red, white or maybe you are more of the wild west whiskey or who knows more of the root-beer type! ;)

Closer to the root beer type, actually ;) I drink maybe once, twice a year at most, and I have one or two. Never got along with drinking...all I ever got was a big mouth followed by a headache.

I really enjoy hearing clips of all types of bassist on this forum especially this thread. Sometimes it inspires me sometimes it makes me feel better about my playing :) but sometimes it humbles me and shows me that I have still a lot of growing to do.

I started out simply messing with the B15 amp to try and come up with a decent tone based on a B15 demo video I had listened to.
After finding a decent sound I decided to see how it sounded with a different bass....then I had an idea! Why don't I try it with 5 different basses!

Here's the process: Each bass was recorded in AT's 8 track recorder through the B15 amp, each bass with the same amp setting (also had a drum track to play to). I then dumped them into GarageBand on the ipad, chopped them up and mixed into a song trying to get the levels mixed as even as I could.
Here are the instruments used, THEY ARE NOT LISTED IN THE SAME ORDER AS THEY APPEAR ON THE RECORDING. Each instrument plays the progression twice (8 bars). Listening with headphones is ideal.
Fender Geddy Lee Jazz
Fender Squier CV 60's PBass
1965 Fender P Bass
1987 Korean Squier Jazz
Steinberger XL2

I found it interesting to compare the tone of Basses that range from a couple of hundred dollars up to a couple of thousand dollars.

I must admit I'm very impressed with both the Amplitube and GarageBand apps!!

I always open and run amplitube 3 and mix and match models from all of them that you couldn't normally just running ampeg svx or fender (for example using the ampeg scrambler OD with the trace elliot model in amplitube 3). That way you can mix and match a whole lot more for best results. You get the best results tweaking around than just going through the amps and presets.

I've owned several of the real amps on amplitube and as far as I'm concerned the b15 is way off the mark (own a b15n). As far as ampeg goes I think the svt solidstate model behaves more like the real thing (owned svt 350 and 450). The SVT classic model is OK.

In the amplitube world my go to amps are the acoustic 360 (I own a real 370 and use the fender 8 10 if I want to go for more modern sounds with it like when I paired my acoustic with real life mesa 1000) and fender bassman 300 (I use the ampeg 8 10 model for the cab to tame down the amp compared to the fender 8 10). The fender tb1 preamp is ok too.

The gk mb150 sounds decent but I use GK audiffex for gk tones (great vst that doesn't use a lot of resources).

With the b15 model on amplitube I tried to like it but it just isn't happening. Using a fender 810 cab with it yielded better results and using it without the speaker as well.

I do have AT 3 with fender and svx and you're right the best is when all is mixed up together in a symphony of different gear co.s to make kind of a frankengear setup but I use the iPad live for its user friendliness.

Here's the first of a few in the next few days. These were all done at practice or at the performance. So I haven't been playing with a click track but with many other musicians and many singers in fact when there is a quiet spot you can faintly hear the singers coming through, but you have to crank the volume in those spots.
The tempos I play in the song change with the other musicians or the drummer may have chosen to change his beat so I do too.
Soooooo... The first clip is me playing my ibanez sr 505 through the art interface into iPad iOS AT b15 with matching cab mic'ed with u87.......I need new strings. :(

Also the first 22 seconds is very quiet because I have hit the rec. and we haven't started the song yet so... It comes in strong at 23 or 24 seconds in.

Here's another we were working on at practice the other night for a bit of interlude type music. Very recognizable I think.....
Also this clip is a b-15 take...just minor settings changes. No click just a few of us working out the kinks. :)

Let me know critically on what I'm sending to FOH. What do you think?
I need to upgrade to the 8 track and mastering on the Ipad AT. Dont I?

I would not think anyone would recognize the first but the second is a bit of MJ "Billie Jean"

Looking back .....At the performance we had an unexpected huge response from the 1 and half minute interlude.....No words just music we knew everyone would "like" it but it was an obvious amount of excitement from that little bit of a tease from MJ. ....too funny.

I actually added a bit more high because the monitors when i was hearing playback were set flat and was seeming to me very deep heavy haaaaaa maybe i should have left it alone.

That's why I'm asking how you guys listen.

I've very good rig regarding both headphones (AKG 701 with Centrance DACmini DAC/ headphone amp) or hifi with my Carot One hybrid amp with tube preamp and class D power amp and good reference monitors.
I thought you used fingers but wasn't 100% certain. You have nice smooth playing the tone is nice with as Jimmy say some treble on the top. Not much as I use.... :) but maybe more then usual.

It is actually typical that one get a tone which is a bit too bright when using PA/ monitors which tend to be somewhat darker then many reference headphones. If I sett the brightness to be as I want when I'm going into the power section of my Ibanez combo (with twitter) it will sound too bright trough headphones.
