Very soon. In the next week or so.
I played a Genesis 5 and a Sonus 5 for years. Nothing compares to composite but I'm enjoying my Emperor 5 till my Zon arrives ;)

Mulebagger that Agents of Venus stuff is a futuristic retro trip .I like it .
P.O.T. your six string looks smashing .I just wanted to play it after I clicked on the larger body pic .SWEEET!
Yeah Joe is correct about his basses .I have a hard time putting it down after I pick it up .They just play and sound so damned nice .
I have been playing mine thru a presonus recording interface with headphones and it just sounds awesome .Really great .Loving life with my new Zon .

Golower, glad you like the Agents of Venus stuff. That's a really fun project.
P.O.T's TJ6 is killer. If it was 19mm I would have tried to snag it a while back. Mine will be a bit different looking with the huge pickups and different spacing.

Nice spalted maple, I'm working on a tj5 as well, a local guy owns the one that is on the Zon home page. I figure with my vinny, a tj5, and a tj6 I should be good to go.

The pic I uploaded doesn't do the quilt much justice. The clear coat will take care of that. How did you like the 33" scale on your KL? I know lots of guys that are going to a shorter scale. I'm not totally convinced that I'd like how it feels.

I'm thinking some where along the lines you are to get a TJ5, but in fretless. I'd probably do the same pickup, but just one in the bridge as I never prefer to use my neck pickup.
I'll keep my Modulus VJ as my 4 string because I like the familiar feel and aggressive nature. But, I've had a Vinny that nailed that 70's Jbass spank like I couldn't believe.

So with a 4, 5 fretless, and my main bass the fretted 6, I should be good to go. My Emperor may find some closet time. I'll probably sell off my beloved Modulus Genesis custom 5 fretless. Hate to let that one go, but if I had a TJ5 fretless, I may wish to stick to similar ergonomics and pass along the Genesis.

Looking forward to your impressions and some clips of your TJ6 when it comes in.

Might take me a while for clips, in final study mode for my comprehensive exams, working on my PhD in ethnomusicology, then I am moving immediately afterwards to San Diego, but it will happen.

The spalted maple does look cool and I think it will look amazing when finished .
I breezed through the Venus songs and sampled most of them .For my personal tastes it sounded real good .If I listened to it twenty times Id be a fan .Plus I just listened to it over the computer speakers .The pic of the dude in the suit jumping off the edge of the world reminds me of a spot at the Grand Canyon where my family took a family photo .The pic of the guy in the silver suit -it is thought provoking .Iam like ok this is a cool pic but what does it mean and then there is the space guy.Please tell us a bit about this project and the direction of the lyrics and art .Are any of these concept albums ? do the songs run a theme or stand alone as themselves .Tell us about this project and what the music is about from a person who is in the bands point of view .Its very pleasing music.Its got a cool vibe to it.You guys should be on the late show with this stuff .Does the art run a theme with the music or is it just random ?Thanks

Hey Golower. Glad you gave it a listen and liked it.
I played with Allen the guitar player/ singer and Mike the drummer in college. The second singer/lyricist, Phil, is also a friend from college.
The project is mainly music by Allen and Lyrics by Phil except a few songs that Allen did both on. Mike ( assoc editor at modern drummer) and I were recruited to lay the rhythm tracks. Watershaker was created around one of my bass lines. We had a mix of creative freedom and written parts for the music.

Phil is also an actor and artist. He is into some pretty whacked stuff and gets into some chariots of the gods type philosophical debates. So some of the music reflects his over the top character.

Tunes like Stereo, Weightless, Her Favorite Song, 33, are from Allen and reflect his musical experience. He also owns and operates a recording studio on NYC that does work for big companies like hersheys, MTV,Calvin Klein, etc

We will be working on other material soon and having the rhythm section giving more musical writing input.

Aries Rising is my project here in Iowa and this summer I'll be putting out another solo album. I'll keep you posted if you like.

I applaud that you and Zon are working on something cool and unique. A lot of rock guys spend tons of time searching for that "always on" pedal. When Addison mentioned that Zon was working on a very unique preamp, my hopes immediately went to a boost / overdrive built into the bass. :bassist: I think it's a fantastic idea!

EDIT: I checked out the video, and I will be eagerly awaiting a demo with either a DI source, or a well mic'd amp. It sounds like this was just a quick run through that happened to be caught on tape, but I still think that the idea is killer!
