Offset Bodies, Yay, or Nay?

Offset bodies? Visually, for sure. Practically, they're just not for me.

My Alvarez "Dana", first time I bought a case for another bass I have and then thought what the? fits in here? So I searched and found the answer.

I actually like the feel of this one and it plays very well, low action, straight neck, 7 lbs etc.

Plus, I when I drool while playing, the result is wet shoes instead of wet electronics!

Again, wrong. Whether it's body balance, the way picking hand lands on the contour, sheer size of offset body, or any combination - difference is real and comments on this tread reflect that.

That's why reverse offsets are better.

I'm a symmetry freak. So, nay for off set bodies. (Plus, off sets don't do well on guitar stands.)

The only thing that upsets asymmetry, equilibrium and world peace is a Jazz bass with P pickups, or a P bass with Jazz pickups. I wouldn't have either of those in the house!

I've always been more worried about how it hangs on a strap and how comfortable it is for my arms and hands than how it feels sitting.

Offset looks cool, but far less practical than a symmetrical body. I still have a J though, so neither Yea or Nay, but perhaps May.
