Not obvious to all; They're all parts basses.

Left: All Fender American Standard parts (except Fralin pickups) Jazz V (because
Fender didn't offer a 3TSB/Maple 5...I did my own)

2nd Left: American Pro Neck; American STD Pecision V body, routed for Jazz, 60's position, Nordstrand split coil Jazz pickup; AmStd P5 pickup; Stacked V/V; 3 way selector; Tone

Far Right: Fender American Hotrod RI body, very special stuff, priced above the AmDlx line, but didn't catch on. American Standard Neck; Duncan SPB1 "P" and Fender Super 55 Jazz PUs; Stacked V/V; 3 way selector; Tone

2nd Right: MIM P-body, MIM P-neck, MIM (American Series pre08) pickup, American
"vintage" bridge, CTS/Switchcraft.

The MIM bass was basically built from leftover parts, except I found a great deal on the body. I built it as a knockaround/beater bass, set it up. and never really played it. I bought another P5 online last night on the GC Used Site and decided to trade this in to offset the costs a bit.

But tonight...I plugged it in, and tried it out. Out of respect for the departed, I guess.

The damn thing sings! SINGS! SINGS!!! This is the best sounding P bass of the bunch. Ohhh, hell.

Life is so unjust! (I wonder if Guitar Center would consider an American Bulldog/Schnauzer mix in trade???)

Previous post was my parts bass: MIM alder Jazz body, BAII bridge, Seymour Duncan SJB2 pickups (WAY better than Quarter Pounders IMHO) and Allparts neck w/ebony fingerboard. I sold this when I purged all of my Fenders and went to Birdsongs.

It would be insane to sell it for what I have in it, and its market value wouldn't be much higher.

On the other hand, that was the plan, and part of the justification for buying the P5. I think I'll start with putting unused parts up for sale.

That partial piece of foam on the Jazz V definitely adds to the "parts bass" vibe!

Those are all nice looking basses, but I especially like the Precision V and the Jazz V. Those are nice bursts and they look fantastic with the maple fingerboards.
