Ohm Advice

This will be my first giggable setup and don't wanna mess it up, so here's the question!

I am going to be buying a 210 and 212 (both Neo) from Avatar soon. I will be powering them via power amplifier, two channels, of course. Now the question I have is. Do I get two 4 ohm cabs and have channel one power the 210 and channel two power the 212

OR.

do I bridge the poweramp and get two 8ohm cabs and run them in parallel.

Are the advantages or disadvantages to either of these options?

Any advice?

Fine to do it either way.

4ohm cabs separate channels advantages are more power from each side of the amp and ability to control the cabs independently. Disadvantages are if you ever switch to conventional amp you're stuck with a 2ohm load, kind of limits choices of amps.

8ohm bridge advantages are 4ohm total load = plenty of power and gives ability to use with any conventional amp.
Disadvantages are you lose the ability to individually control each cab although you can still run the 8ohm cabs on separate channels just like the 4's. Don't know how big of power amp you're using, might have enough per channel at 8ohms anyway.

Personally I get my cabs in the 8ohm variety just so I can pick and choose any 2 and run them on any amp I might ever end up with or if you want to get really crazy this gives you the ability to run a 4 cab monster stack off one 2channel amp although I've never had occasion to do so, just an idea.

Don't know if this is true of all power amps, but I've read of some where the sound is "faster" or punchier when running bridged.

Good advice, 8-ohm cabs leave lots more options. When I was running SWR gear I always kicked myself for getting a 4-ohm 4x10 because I could have definitely used another one or a 1x15 to keep up with my band at the time.

That being said my current main cab is a 4-ohm, but Schroeders work just fine as single cab solutions.
