OHM Assumption

So, I have this old Mesa 210, thought I had better try and work out what sort of Ohmage it is... I popped the back and it is wired in parallel. Unfortunately there are no markings or ratings on the backs of the speakers, which would have saved me posting this in the first place. Also makes me wonder whether they're the orginals or not.
Assuming they used the same speakers that would have been used in both 8 and 4 Ohm cabs of this model (if that was infact the case), do you guys think it would be reasonable to assume it runs at 8?
Unfortunately I don't have a multi-meter, or access to one via a buddy or colleague, hence my violent stabs in the dark... wonder if I have hit anything?

If there were 8 and 4 Ohm versions of this cab, they could not have used the same drivers. Your choices are to get a cheap Ohmmeter, or contact Mesa.

Ahh, I see...
I sort of figured that they'd be the same (potentially 8 Ohm) drivers in both types of cab, but that one would be wired in series to be 4 Ohm and the other in parallel to be 8.

I'll see if I can get on to Mesa.

Just to fill in that piece of the puzzle if two drivers have impedance Z, then in parallel they make Z/2 and in series Z*2, so you would see a four-fold difference between the two configurations. If the two models only show a two-fold difference, then the drivers have to be different.

If you get a multimeter, make sure it can actually measure ohms. We went to measure a speaker with one inexpensive multimeter and it only did kilo-ohms. I later found out this is very common.
