ok mm sterling or fender jazz

just looking for some input, looking to get one of these. I do like a very versitile bass,
fat p-bass sound
Good slap sound,
good jaco sound,
I currently play a Ibanez 605 bartarillo p.u's,,It does a pretty good job but,

1.fat P-bass sound is ok(would like a bit more sustain)
2.The slap sound is ok
3.and the jaco sound is a little weak would like to get a better jazz jaco sound

Apples to Oranges. The Sterling is a completely different animal from the Jazz. You'll get a great slap sound and a good Jaco tone, but you won't get a good P-Bass tone due to the lack of the neck pickup. I'm not sure how an HH Sterling would fix that, but still it wouldn't sound like a Precision.

I would get the jazz or better yet, find a P/J
