I suppose I fit the "bi" category. I have two basses; a passive Jazz and a passive/active G&L, though both are similar in most other respects (4-strings, maple boards, humbuckers).

+1. I'm right there with you, Mike.

My guitarist has 19 guitars but only ever gigs two or three of them. I have six (almost seven -- where's the UPS guy?) but have gigged every one of them over the past six months or so.

I always play at least two basses at any gig, and rotate the #2 bass quite often.

I like "playing the field." It helps keep me open to other tones and styles. Plus I've been married for 12 years -- not much variety there, LOL.
